Asus ATK

If you have an Asus laptop and were wondering what ATK... was well wonder no more.

ASUS ATKOSD2: It changes the images you see when you use the function key shortcuts and other hotkeys. The images have a small 3D effect such as water ripples.

ATKDrv Utility: This is required because it is actually the ACPI driver. This is what tells your OS about the power state of your system and allows for power settings to be changed by the OS. It is also responsible for pulling battery information from the BIOS.

ATK_Media: When the play, pause, etc. keys are pressed, this will cause Windows Media Center to open. When the system is powered down and the power key on the front of the laptop is pressed, the system will start up and will open Windows Media Center right after you log on.

ATK_Hotkey Utility: This is required to make use of all the function key shortcuts.

ATK Generic Function Utility: This is required as it allows for communication between the ACPI and all the shortcut keys.

ATK0100 is a ACPI utility which has do to with the motherboard and power management.

Thank you very much for this information! I have an ASUS A53U-XE1 and some of the programs you listed were also a part of my system. I am currently doing a disk cleanup as well, so hopefully my laptop will be less burdened and produce better results in the future. Thanks again for your help!
